And, defending feels much more effective this year. If you aren’t in a good position to make a pass, it probably won’t connect. Gameplay wise, passing in NHL 22 seems more realistic than previous games. If you compare NHL 22 to last year’s game, it’s a night and day difference. Furthermore, the ice now is a prominent and distinct part of the environment and looks much more realistic. As a result, EA Vancouver have rebuilt and relit all of the arenas in this year’s game. One of the biggest benefits of NHL 22 built using the Frostbite engine is deferred lighting. When playing on the new consoles you can immediately see the changes! Now inline with the other sports titles from EA Sports, it’s great to see EA Vancouver taking advantage of the Frostbite Engine and the power of Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
